Ah, we made it through the holidays. It’s time to celebrate a New Year full of hope and maybe a new resolution or two. OK, I need to confess: yes, I do make New Year’s resolutions (I suspect others of you do also, just maybe secretly and you don’t tell). I have found that if you make these resolutions simple and manageable, you have a better chance to stick with them and they can make a difference.
I think we all could unite around resolutions to save more and spend less, and spend more time on family budgeting. You can make some simple changes that are achievable, and you can actually save money.
Easy steps such as maybe cutting down on the specialty coffee drinks that we consume. I’m not saying give up these drinks—just cut back. At the end of the year, without denying yourself much, you will have found a way to save. Each coffee drink costs $4.00 or even more. If you give up one drink per week for a year, that’s a savings of $200.
If you look around, I bet you can find several, easy ways to save just a little. At the end of the year, I bet you’d be surprised how much that “little savings” can add up to.
Have a great 2018.
