This course is to be completed after a bankruptcy case has been filed. You need to have a case number to register for this class. If you do not have a case number, you should not take this course. If you need to get a counseling certificate so an attorney can file your bankruptcy, Consumer Credit Counseling of Southern Oregon offers that certificate to a person who has completed an on-line counseling session or in-person counseling appointment. If you need the Pre-Filing counseling, click here. To make that appointment for Pre-Filing Counseling, call 541-779-2273 during normal business hours.
Consumer Credit Counseling is approved to offer Pre-Discharge Bankruptcy Education On-line and issue certificates in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code.* The online course is titled “Money in Motion” and takes a minimum of two hours to complete. The online education course fee is $30.00 per person and $45.00 for a couple. CCCS will provide services without regard to debt student’s ability to pay and will not withhold services because of an inability to pay.
Look for this Box. Please note that once you have paid for your course using your credit card or PayPal account, you will be instructed to complete the registration process by following a link that will take you to a page with your User ID and password. Do not miss this step.
The Money in Motion identification process includes a few security procedures. When you log into the program for the first time, you’ll be asked to select a security question, provide a personal answer, and the last four digits of your social security number. Sometime in the middle of the course, you will be asked to re-enter the SSN’s. If you fail to enter them correctly you will be locked out of your course and will need to contact the CCCS office to be reinstated on the course. When you prepare to submit your post-assessment answers, you’ll be required to enter your password and answer your security question. Both must be correctly completed in order for the Money in Motion system to accept your post-assessment answers.
You must earn a post-assessment score of 70% or more to complete the course. If you do not achieve this score, the Money in Motion system will instruct you to proceed to a page where you’ll retake the post-assessment. The system will show only the questions that you missed, and will eliminate the questions that were answered correctly. Each question will include a link to the chapter where you can find the answer. The process will repeat until you successfully achieve a total score of 70% or higher.
Do not try to complete the course in less than two hours. Should you complete the online course in less than 120 minutes, you will receive a pop-up screen that says you have not spent enough time on the course and you will be redirected back to the course content to spend additional time. So don’t try to hurry through the course.
The class may be restarted if you are interrupted. You should save the e-mail you will receive with your password and username because the link to the course will be in that e-mail. Follow the link, enter your username and password, and the course will resume from where you last left the program.
You will need a valid credit or debit card to purchase the course online, or you may purchase the course in person from CCCS of Southern Oregon at the Medford office only. You will need to enter your bankruptcy case number in order to get your certificate. Please e-mail, mail, or fax (541-779-6412) a copy of your driver’s license or other valid photo ID to verify your identity.
