Consumer Credit Counseling is approved by the Executive Office of the United States Trustee (EOUST) to provide Pre-Filing Bankruptcy Counseling on-line and to issue certificates of completion in the states of California and Oregon, in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code.* The online counseling session is titled “Counseling in Motion BK Edition” and takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.
You may purchase the Pre-Filing Counseling session online or in person from the CCCS of Southern Oregon Medford office (cash only). We require a copy of your photo ID as proof of identification, which you may fax to CCCSSO at 541-779-6412 or deliver to the Medford office in person, by mail or via email to info@improvedcredit.org. CCCS of Southern Oregon does not permit attorneys to register their students for bankruptcy counseling. Students must register themselves. CCCS does not pay or receive fees or other consideration for the referral of debtor students to or by the provider.
You need a valid email address to complete the course and can obtain one through Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail at no charge. Please note that some email correspondence from our Agency is inadvertently delivered to junk email files or SPAM folders. Please check these locations if you have not received the email to begin the course.

Once payment is received using your credit card or PayPal account, you will be instructed to complete the registration process by following a link that will take you to a page with your User ID and password. The page will contain a link to a website to begin your counseling session. Don’t miss this important step. If you are interrupted during your counseling session, you may return to it at any time through the link to continue to your course.
When you log into Counseling in Motion BK Edition for the first time, you’ll be asked to select a security question and provide a personal answer. When you are ready to submit your financial information for your counselor to review you must enter your password and answer your security question. The system will not accept your financial information until these steps are correctly completed.
Upon completion of the online counseling session, the information you have entered will be reviewed by a certified credit counselor within 3 business days. You must complete the financial information fields to proceed to the counselor review. The counselor will review your information in order to make recommendations. Some recommendations will include suggestions on how to improve your financial situation, including, but not limited to, employment assistance, reduction of living expenses and public programs you may qualify for. You must have a discussion with your counselor regarding these recommendations, either by telephone or email, to complete the session and have a certificate issued to you. This conversation will include the reasons for your financial difficulties, a review of your budget and additional steps that you could take to avoid financial problems in the future. The Certificate will be issued and emailed to you within 1 business day of this discussion.
If you need assistance during the counseling session, you can reach us at (541) 779-2273 during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You may also contact us by email at info@improvedcredit.org and a counselor will respond during business hours.
The fee for the online counseling session is $35.00 for an individual and $50.00 for a couple. CCCSSO will not withhold services because of an inability to pay. If a waiver of the fee is requested, proof of income may be submitted to the CCCSSO office in Medford. Please contact us at (541)779-2273 for details regarding required documentation.
